The executive editor has been out since Friday with food poisoning, and he's out the rest of the week, at least. So, is my welcome-back idea kind of tacky? I've half a mind to go buy him a secondhand copy of Spoiled: The Dangerous Truth About a Foodchain Gone Haywire and inscribe it with the greeting with which he welcomed me back after my two-day bout with food poisoning: "So, was it like having a fountain at both ends?"
