baffling and possibly sexist/ageist phone call just now as I frantically try to rinse out the sink before bolting off to work:

me: Hello? [somewhat huskily]
somewhat effeminate guy's voice: Hi, Mike Mulroney, Texas Police Chiefs Association.
me: Hi.
guy: Is this the man of the house?
me: No.
guy: Is your mom or dad home?
me: No.
guy: We'll try again later.
