um pietruszewski sent me an ep by THE THERMALS and I am obsessed with it. the intro song sounds exactly like every other throwaway GBV song but I still like it. it also reminds me of centro-matic. and I really like the last song because it's a song about themselves and I like it when bands are not afraid to be stupid and funny and self-referential. like I'm going to make a mix CD with all such songs, except I can only think of three other bands with theme songs (Atom & His Package, Belle & Sebastian and the Prima Donnas).
