I did my first music story. The other M.T. at work came over to tell me that he enjoyed reading it, even if he didn't understand all the references. He has said before that the last time he got into new music was Dire Straits, and he was distraught yesterday about Johnny Ramone's death. M.T. said he got the feeling, from my writing, that I was "very competent" at what I was trying to do.

He said: "I look forward to reading more about music that I will never listen to."
